Manufacturing & Quality
MEMS Cleanroom Fabrication
Our palladium alloy thin-film hydrogen sensors are fabricated on a dedicated 4-inch MEMS line in Shenzhen. The 6-step manufacturing process — substrate preparation, Ion Beam Deposition (IBD) of the palladium alloy sensing layer, PECVD deposition of the PdOₓ anti-CO poisoning protective layer, photolithographic patterning, wafer dicing, and die packaging — is performed entirely in-house. Each wafer produces approximately 200 sensor die, and every die is individually tested before packaging.
Testing & Burn-In
Every sensor undergoes a 72-hour powered burn-in at 85°C before calibration. During burn-in, we continuously monitor sensor resistance and capacitance (dual-mode detection) to identify and reject infant-mortality failures. Post-burn-in testing includes:
- Thermal cycling: -40 to +85°C, 10 cycles, verify zero-drift <5% of reading
- Response time: T90 verified <60 seconds at 100 ppm H₂ challenge
- Cross-sensitivity: Verify <1% response to CO (1,000 ppm), methane (1%), humidity (0–95% RH)
- Long-term stability: Extended 500-hour test at 85°C for statistical sample from each wafer lot
